Our beloved William (WT) Andrew Thompson, Jr. passed away at the age of 77 on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024.
William (WT) Thompson was born on August 27, 1946, to Mildred Bess Barley and William Andrew Thompson, Sr. in Baltimore, Maryland. WT lived much of his life at Rosewood and became part of his Emerge's Family in June of 1983.
WT lived in various apartments with his girlfriend "Sue" that he met during his time at Rosewood. He and Sue enjoyed each other for many years. They even had a marital ceremony to celebrate their love for each other. For over 35 years WT lived independently but started having health issues that required him to move eventually living with two great guys, Michael Becote and Michael Boozer, who loved him dearly.
WT started in the early 1990’s working at Emerges’ Day program as a Janitor and would later change jobs in 2016 to work as a front desk worker at Sulphur Springs work program where he enjoyed time with his coworkers. WT would later retired due to several health issues.
WT was not the easiest person to connect with but was the most famous grumpy, lovable, little man ever! We all would enjoyed watching his weekly disagreements with Rodney Judkins. THEY WERE CLASSIC!!! However, over the years he would build a special bond with a few dedicated staff that loved and adored him. They enjoyed different vacations and attending different concerts. Some of WT's favorite artist were the Temptations, “Just my imagination” was one of his favorites to song to sing during car rides. WT was know for his ZOOT out suits and making you aware he was getting married. Some additional special bonds he would create were with Donna Booker, Montaya Daniels, Tony Roberts and Myrlande Daguindeau.
