William Jefferson “Jeff” Wester, II, son of the late William and Stephanie Wester of Gainesville, Florida passed away suddenly at his home in Ellicott City, MD on 5/2/20. He was 56 years old.
Jeff was also pre-deceased by his sister, Suzanne Wester.
Jeff and his sister, Suzanne, grew up in Ellicott City, MD where he graduated from Centennial High School. He continued his education at the University of Florida and later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Gwynedd-Mercy University in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the same university with a Master of Science Degree in Education, Jeff joined that university as an adjunct professor of education.
One of Jeff’s greatest pleasures in life was working with young people. He built strong connections and had a lifelong impact on the students he taught and the players he coached through Little League football and lacrosse in Warrington, PA and softball in Columbia, MD. Additionally, Jeff worked as a summer camp instructor for gifted and talented middle school students with Maryland Leadership Workshops. Jeff enjoyed fishing, listening to music, attending concerts, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his outstanding sense of humor, his loyalty, and the genuine love he showed for his family and friends.
Jeff is survived by his aunt and uncle, Mrs. Stella Chambliss and Dr. Thomas Chambliss of North Carolina; his girlfriend, Mary Ellen Kelley and her daughter, Meghan Kelley, both of Maryland, and numerous other loving cousins, family members, and friends. A memorial ceremony and burial will be held in Florida at a later date.
